A Google review link is a URL that opens your business's review form directly — the star rating and comment box, already loaded, no searching. It's what you put on receipts, table cards, and follow-up messages. Here's how to get yours.
Method 1: From your Business Profile
Search your business name on Google while signed in to the account that manages it. In the Business Profile panel, click "Ask for reviews". Google gives you a short link (it looks like g.page/r/…). This is the cleanest option — it's the link Google itself hands out for this purpose.
Method 2: From Google Maps
Open Google Maps, search your business, open the listing, tap Share, and copy the link. This link points at your listing rather than straight at the review form, so it costs the customer one extra tap on "Write a review" — usable, but not ideal.
Method 3: Build it from your Place ID
Find your Place ID with Google's Place ID Finder, then use this format: search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID. This opens the review form directly, the same as Method 1. Useful if the "Ask for reviews" button isn't showing for you yet.
Turn the link into a QR code
Paste the link into any QR code generator to get a scannable image. Or use a tool built for this — Parrhesis takes your business name, produces the direct review link, a short branded link, a QR code, and print-ready table cards and receipt strips, and then counts how many people actually use it.
Test it before you print
- ·Open the link on a phone that's not signed into your business account — you should land on the star picker for your business, not a search page.
- ·Scan the QR code from a normal reading distance, not phone-touching-paper.
- ·If you use a short link you control (rather than a raw Google URL), you can repoint it later without reprinting anything.
FAQ
Is there an official Google review link generator?
The closest thing is the "Ask for reviews" button in your own Business Profile, which generates a g.page short link. There's no separate standalone generator from Google; third-party tools build the writereview URL from your Place ID.
Why doesn't my business have an "Ask for reviews" button?
It usually appears once your profile is verified and has been active for a while. Until then, use the Place ID method (search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…).
Can I change the link after printing it on materials?
Not if you printed a raw Google URL. If you printed a short link that you control, yes — repoint it and every printed code updates. This matters if you change locations or the profile is re-created.
Does the link work in SMS and WhatsApp?
Yes. A Google review link is just a URL — it opens in the browser or Google Maps app from any message. Sending it the day after a visit is one of the higher-converting placements.
